Liuan guapian has a long historical standing and rich cultural connotation.
Liupian guapian green tea is produced in the areas near the hills in Liu’an county, Jinzhai county and Huoshan county. The tea, in turn, is classified into two producing areas, namely, the Neishan guapian tea area and Waishan guapian tea area.

The Waishan guapian tea area consists of Shibanchong village, Shipodian village, Shizigang village, and Luojia’an village in Liu’an county. Liu'an county’s tea output is the highest; and tea produced in Jinzhai village is with the best quality. The producing area of Guapian tea is around the Qitoushan Mountain area. In the past, this area was governed by Liu’an county, but now it is administered by Jinzhai county. The Qishan mingpian tea produced in Qitoushan village is the superfine Liuan guapian tea.
