Use between one and two teaspoons of leaves per cup of 85-95 degree water (185-203 fahrenheit) for up to 3-5 minutes. Dragon Well Tea, also known as Longjing Tea, is the most celebrated tea among the top ten teas in China. The tea is grown in the Longjing mountain area of Hangzhou, southwest of the West Lake, where it is produced mostly by hand and has been renowned for its high quality, earning the title of Most Famous Chinese Tea. The flat and smooth tea leaves (resembling pine needles with a yellow to dark green color) brew a tea with light to dark green color, a fragrant scent, and a refreshing taste. Longjing is divided into seven grades: Superior, Special, and then 1 down to 5. Infused leaves are a good indicator of quality, which is characterized by maturity and uniformity of the shoots harvested for processing. High quality Longjing teas produce tender, whole leaves that are uniform in appearance. When steeped, the Dragon Well Tea (Longjing Tea) produces a yellow-green color, a gentle, pure aroma, and a rich and pleasant flavor. The tea contains Vitamin C, amino acids, and has one of the highest concentrations of catechins among teas, second only to white teas. Dragon Well Tea (Longjing Tea) is well-known for its property: It’s flat and tightly-closed in shape like sprout of lotus seed, besides, it’s light green and glossy in color similar as brown rice with the hidden down on the sprout. Infused in glass, it’s dark green but bright in body, dancing up and slowly with it’s green tea leaves. 1. Generally use 5g green tea per 250ml water. 2. The best water temperature for brewing green dragon well tea should be around 85o C [185 degree Fahrenheit]. 3. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves, and wait for about 2 minutes’ infusion. 4. Then enjoy the tea. Could brew 3-4 times.
